Build a simple set of studs, threader or huggie earrrings or two necklaces in this three hour workshop where you will learn the basics of sandcasting. We will take shells from around Kachemak Bay to create your one of a kind pieces. Choose from our many shells or bring your own! It doesn't have to be a mussel shell. Clam shells, tiny oysters, even dried sea stars work well!
In a small group of 8 students, I will walk you through sandcasting, sawing, forming and even soldering. Each student will have their own work station, tools and personalized guidance on how to bring a sand casted necklace or pair of earrings to life!
Options to melt down your heirloom gold or purchase 14k or 18 k ahead of time for your pieces. Please reach out to me if this interests you.

- Class will last around three hours.
- Apps and bevs are provided.
Workshops will be held at the AK Metalworks studio in Homer. Around one week before the event, each student will receive an email with further details. We have a lot to cover so it's important that you arrive on time!

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY- By purchasing a ticket you are agreeing to this cancellation policy. Most of the summer students are from out of town. Homer summers are incredibly busy and hard to find lodging on a short notice. Due to that reasoning 100% refund if given two weeks notice. 100% refund if I am able to rebook your seat – no matter the notice (this happens often!) Super extenuating circumstances may be allowed such as major medical. Please reach out via email.
